About the Event
It is important for employees to be provided with terms and conditions of employment.
Why so? Usually, one will only agree to work in an organization if s/he is made aware of
the terms and conditions of employment. Another reason is that setting out the terms
and conditions of employment in writing will minimize any potential
misunderstanding(s) that may arise.
In that regard, many companies set out the terms and conditions of employment only
in a letter of offer, employment contract, or the like.
However, there may be other terms and conditions of employment that may not be
covered in that document, and this is where a well-drafted employees’ handbook will
come into the picture. The objective of an employees’ handbook is to consolidate all
polices, forms, etc of the company, and to provide all the information, codified into a
handbook, about the company, its culture, policies, rules and regulations.
Participants will learn about drafting an employees’ handbook, together with the relavant
laws related to it. Topics to be covered include- introduction, general and specic employment
laws of Malaysia, provisions of the law worth incorporating into a handbook, ideas for
making a handbook more interesting.
